Marriage License A marriage license can be obtained by filling out the marriage license application. The legal age to obtain a marriage license is 18 years of age or older. A Rubella test is needed for the woman if she is the child bearing age. There is a waiver of the rubella test that can be signed by both the Bride and Groom acknowledging that they have been informed of the damage to an unborn child if the mother contracts rubella during the pregnancy. If you choose to have a pre-marital test done, you need to do this at any medical certified lab. You then need a certificate, signed by both the Bride and Groom that they have been made aware of the test results. We accept blood tests from other states. We will need to see some form of identification (drivers license, birth certificate, etc. for proof of age). If either party has been previously married then a copy of the Divorce Decree or Death Certificate should be presented to obtain a marriage license. The total cost of a marriage license is $53.00. There is no waiting period to get married in the state of Montana, so you can purchase the license and get married the same day. The Clerk of Court office is open from 8:oo a.m. till 12:00 p.m. and open from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. |
